This set of photos presents typical processes for breaking jointed plain concrete pavement (JPCP). Break for removal of JPCP is typically performed to produce 12-inch, 18-inch or 24-inch minus size particles. Contractors choose the size based on whether and how the broken concrete will be crushed, whether the broken concrete will be placed in a fill, and the type of equipment to be used to remove and haul the broken concrete. All versions of the Badger Breaker® are effective for breaking JPCP.
