68,000 square yards of 11-inch thick and 18,000 square yards of 6-inch thick concrete pavement was rubblized with an MHBT Badger Breaker® and a vibratory grid roller in 3 work days. As is common in Iowa, a 2-inch thick layer of choke stone was placed on the rubblized concrete prior to the asphalt overlay.
