Videos Break for Removal Airports
Feb 11, 2015
Breaking for removal a 14″ thick, continuously reinforced concrete pavement holding pad at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, IL, using two 8600 Badger Breakers®. The customer chose to have Antigo make two perpendicular passes of 8″ hammer strike spacing and then 6″ spacing in order to pulverize the concrete and leave the rebar completely debonded. The rebar was then raked out and loaded prior to removing the broken concrete with excavators. The broken concrete was hauled to an on-site crusher for processing for reuse on the site.
